A Laugh and Maybe Comfort For Those With Brain Fog

I was just reading on the website I get weekly posts from about fibro and cfids. Lately I have been having increasing problems with doing "brain things." It's actually kind of got me a little scared since I can't ask a doctor right now if it's normal for someone with this stuff or if something else is wrong. I read this post and it made me feel a little less scared and gave me a few laughs because now I know I'm not alone, other people do this stupid stuff too. Thought some others might benefit from it too. I hope it can make someone smile :-)

That sounds familiar.
I've been pulling these "lost words" moments since I was eight years old, or rather, that's the first time I remembered it.
I went to my mum and wanted to borrow an umbrella.
I asked my mother "can I borrow your boots?"
She looked at me and said "huh?"
I asked again, "can I borrow your boots? It's raining out."

This went on for a good few minutes before it sank in that "boots" was the wrong word.

I find myself in that situation at least every other month still.
I explained it like this to a healthy friend once: I asked, How often do u go into a room & then forget why u went there? He said, every once in a blue moon. I said, it happens to me 3-5 times a day. His mouth hung open, & his eyes got wide.

Studies have shown that fibro patients have the memory problems of someone 20-30 yrs older than them - a scarey thot to me!
Fibrofog is like going thru an invisible obstacle course that no one else can see.
I have been in malls shopping and didn;t know what I came for. Just walk up and down isles till I see or mind kicks back in.
I make a list and still end up missing 4-6 things I "need" to get.
I find that brain fog is a lot harder than the pain. You can take pain pills for the pain but there is nothing to do when the brain fog sets in.
