Fibro Guys

A Social Network for Men with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue or Pain

First let me say that I have changed my name on the forum as I someday hope to return to work and have found these forums are open to Google searches and it's my goal to be able to return to work.   I hate not being able to work.

The story short as possible.

1) About 8 or 9 years ago I noticed fairly constant pain in my calve muscles.  Especially at night.  More annoying than anything else but years the pain spread to my thighs and eventually my entire body though my legs are still the most painful.

2) The pain maybe related to a major accident where I nearly lost my right arm. I never really felt quite right following all those surgeries.

3) There was stress in my jobs given layoffs were a common method of keeping costs down but I enjoyed my work.

4) One day I was hit with fevers which continued for several months.  I'd start to feel ill by noon and by 3PM had full blown flu like symptoms with body aches and chills and a fever of up to 103.  It was like clockwork each day.  I was diagnosed with Still's Disease (a rare form of arthritis most common in children).  Treatments took away the fevers but left the pain.

5) Eventually was diagnosed with Myaofacial Pain Disorder and eventually Fibromyalgia and CFS along with sleep apena. Due to prednisone and Lyrica I am now well over weight.

My status is basically disabled and continuing to decline.   My pain levels are generally in the 7 range and the Norco & Ambien & Klonopin they give me does help some.  Especially if I take more than prescribed.  At recommended dosages, not much changes.

I am however still hopeful that I will find someway to improve.  I will be 50 around April 1st.

Thanks for reading to this point.
