I do not know the true answer to this for sure. But, my understanding is that is goes back to the application date whether or not you have been turned down first. Don't trust my answer though as I do not know the facts for sure. I am still waiting to hear back about my application. They are supposed to schedule me an appointment with an SSI doc as well and I dread it because it will probably flare up my symptoms just to get myself there like every appointment of any kind does. I am just so relieved that all my paperwork is in. Filling that out was a major stress and made me sicker just to complete it. I hope all goes well for you.
My understanding is the same as Mary's, that is, one gets paid from the date of the application.
However, I would not count my chickens b/4 they hatch. When I applied in '06, I had a 2 dr's who said my condition was serious enough to be considered disabled. However, they had 3 other dr's who said my condition was not that bad. So the result was a denial. So the question is, what have your other dr's said to SSI? & SSI may respond to this dr's report by having u see another dr.
