Wow, it is so sad and frustrating that people can be fine one day and destroyed the next. Scientist are beginning to realize that even minor head trauma (even when it does not cause unconsciousness) can damage the brain much more that previously thought. This is a big problem for children playing sports or people who get whiplash and other accidents where they are thought to be fine and only later do problems show up. It is so weird to me that accidents can lead to the same problems that others have been developing slowly over a number of years. Can wait till someone finally figures this all out. Also, do you know what trigger points are? It is highly possible that you developed them and things got more complicated from there. They can be latent or active. Activated trigger points can hurt even constantly and they can refer pain to other areas in the muscles and nearly every other part of the body. Most people who have them (we all pretty much have some) that are healthy can get treatment to reduce their effects. Other people who have fibro and some other types of illness do not get the same level of relief from treatments due to factors of the illness hat contribute to them not responding as well and permanently. I can't explain what they are and all that is involved with them right now because I need to get off the computer soon due to my shoulder/neck pain. Physical therapy that focuses on strengthening the muscles without accounting for trigger points and contractions of the muscles can sometimes make things worse. Unfortunately it can be very hard to find a qualified therapist for this much less afford the treatments needed. Are you taking any pain meds or muscle relaxers?
It is scary when your memory gets like that isn't it. I feel like I am going to for get who and where I am. Also, it is like every thing I do, I am doing for the first time even if I do it every day. This is especially a problem at work(i don't work now), things that should be automatic based on my doing every day I still have to take time to remember and orient myself towards that task.
I am not sure what other meds you should take but it seems like you should look into it. Do the meds you take now actually help you?

Hi Isidro,
Welcome to the site. I don't have an answer to you question. But, I have questions instead. I am curious as to what your health was like before your accident. Is there an area that is the most intense and frequent place you feel your pain. Also, which other symptoms do you have in addition to pain. As a person who was practically born with this it is disturbing to see how many people end up with this and how many ways it manifests and the triggers that set it off. As an ex CMT (Certified Massage Therapist) I am curious as to what type of treatment you received after your accident. Apparently many people end up with chronic pain syndromes after injuries. Clearly, there is a lack of knowledge and or availability of proper treatment to people after accidents. I do NOT personally know specifically what that treatment should be. I do know that sometimes massage, chiropractic, and similar bodywork techniques can help significantly. Sometimes not. I can't help but believe that some of the suffering could have been prevented for so many people. It seems that the earlier the issues are recognized and addressed the more likely people are to recover since their problem has not had a chance to snowball into a massive and complicated illness. I hope that in the future we will know how to best treat and prevent the pain and other symptoms and that that treatment will be available to all.
Also, do you take anything besides the two medications listed above? Have you tried any other types of treatment other than prescribed medications? This site is new so hopefully as time goes by people will be able to add more about their experiences with different treatments and so forth.

Hey Isidro, in the future, you may want to post this kind of question in the "Forum" section. The "Blog" section is for journal or diary entries. Thanks!
